The Chubb Bulleid People’s Prize

A long standing WAC tradition is that the People’s Prize is awarded according to a public vote. Voting slips and ballot boxes are positioned at the start and end of the gallery exhibition with all visitors in person allowed one vote, regardless of age (the People’s Prize has proved particularly engaging with children and their parents alike!).

Gallery works, site-specific installations and community projects are all eligible for the prize. In the 2024 show there were 3,261 votes cast, with the winner receiving 275 of them.

A few of the recent winning artworks are shown below. With thanks to the award’s sponsor, Chubb Bulleid Solicitors of Wells.
